In tegenstelling tot gecentraliseerde beurzen, omzeilen deze transacties formeel toezicht.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">De FCA <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fca.org.uk\/news\/press-releases\/fca-leads-first-crackdown-illegal-crypto-trading\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">merkt op<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> dat dit type handel een juiste registratie vereist. Momenteel zijn er nergens in het VK FCA-geregistreerde peer-to-peer cryptohandelaars of -platforms actief.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Steve Smart, uitvoerend directeur Handhaving en Markttoezicht van de FCA, verklaarde dat niet-geregistreerde peer-to-peer handelaren illegaal opereren en een serieus financieel criminaliteitsrisico vormen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Hij herinnerde consumenten eraan alleen zaken te doen met bij de FCA geregistreerde bedrijven. Smart benadrukte ook dat crypto voor alle kopers een risicovolle investering blijft.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">De toezichthouder werkt al enige tijd toe naar dit soort handhaving. In juni 2024 werkte de FCA samen met de Metropolitan Police om twee personen aan te houden die verbonden waren aan een illegale cryptobeurs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Daarvoor vervolgde de FCA een persoon die een illegaal netwerk van crypto ATM&#8217;s runde.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Hoe wetshandhaving illegale cryptonetwerken in Londen ontwricht<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">SWROCU Detective Inspector Ross Flay benadrukte de waarde van samenwerking tussen instanties.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Hij zei dat samenwerken met de FCA en HMRC wetshandhaving in staat stelt effectief illegale handelaren aan te pakken.
